Reports to: Transportation and Facility Manager


Job Overview: Organize and monitor the storage and distribution of products, ensuring optimum efficiency and productivity with an eye on all stages of the delivery cycle.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and facilitate pre-erection shipping meetings onsite with erector and contractor
  • Plan with contractor to ensure timely shipping of product including short and long term scheduling
  • Generate load lists from shop drawings
  • Coordinate with office and production to make sure projects will be complete on time and be ready to ship at the time the jobsite is ready for the product
  • Update weekly load schedule
  • Maintain a weekly list of projects and number of loads shipped
  • Answer phone calls from truckers at home at all hours
  • Own inspection and maintenance log and coordinate with maintenance for service when repairs as needed
  • Maintain strong line of communication with truck drivers while delivering product to ensure wait time is minimal wait time
  • Creating bill of ladings
  • Daily coordination and communication with sites and plant
  • Build and maintain erection sequence spreadsheets
  • Update job specific information into EPM
  • Maintain shipping information in Ops Manager
  • Keep current on shipping laws and regulations
  • Order permits
  • Coordinate drop lot locations if project requires this a solution for successful shipping
  • Schedule Shag driver if drop lot is being used
  • Be creative on a daily basis with transportation solutions especially in driver shortage situations
  • Track production on projects to make sure they are ready for shipment
  • Rent or lease extra equipment as required to deliver product during heavy shipping periods.
  • Make recommendations on haul rates typically updated yearly



  • A degree in business administration, logistics, transportation, supply chain or an equivalent of a minimum, 5 years of applicable experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated work experience in both distribution and logistics
  • Strong data entry skills and attention detail
  • Ability to prioritize work, delegate and meet deadlines
